The weather has been pretty severe this past year: hurricanes, winter cyclone bomb blizzards, massive fires and drought in the west, and flooding in the south. What’s going on? Weather is just a snapshot of atmospheric climate at any given time and climate is just the average weather. Both describe how the sun’s heat moves from the tropics to the poles. We’ll explore how weather and climate work, what’s happened in the past, why they’re changing now, and what scientists are predicting about the future both around the world and here in Maine.
