Artificial Intelligence

This course is a primer in artificial intelligence (AI), a term and concept very much in the news today. We begin by developing a basic understanding of intelligence as well as super intelligence, and by reviewing some recent artificial intelligence developments known to us all. The merger of humans and machines, and the impact of AI on jobs, will be discussed. This course will raise issues of control of AI machines and the ethics associated with these developments. Students will debate the advantages and disadvantages of artificial intelligence. MSC

Edward Cherian spent 32 years as Professor of Information Systems at George Washington University. His distinguished career includes awards and honors (Ford Foundation Fellow, Senior Fulbright Scholar, National Science Foundation Advisor), and numerous technical publications.
