CoHost Workshop

Friday, April 4, 2025 from 9:30 am – 11:30 am

Midcoast Senior College is looking for volunteers to assist our instructors and help our students enjoy the wonderful experience of learning new things. These volunteers, called MSC Co-Hosts, are an essential part of a course, whether in the classroom or on-line in Zoom. And, they get to attend the course they co-host for free. Get involved with Midcoast Senior College!

QUESTIONS? WE HAVE ANSWERS!

I’m curious, what does a Co-Host do?

Co-Hosts perform a variety of tasks, such as sending reminder emails, handing out printed materials in the classroom, setting out name cards, and helping instructors use the room technology.  On-line, they send out emails with links to join a Zoom Meeting prior to a class, help students use Zoom, and send out recordings of the class.

But, I’m not a Tech-y Type!

We hear that a lot. But it’s never too late to learn new things. We provide full training for our new Co-Hosts. They work in tandem with an experienced Co-Host for their first course, and staff or other volunteers are always available to provide any back-up that they may need in the future.

Hmmm, tell me more…

It’s fun, you meet lots of interesting, intelligent, and curious seniors, and provide the College with much-needed assistance.  And, you have the satisfaction of knowing that what you do is greatly appreciated by instructors and students alike. Guess what else? There is such a thing as a free lunch – they’re called Co-Host Appreciation Luncheons. (Join us and you’ll learn all about it.)

Okay, I’ll bite! What, When & Where?

Join us for an information and training workshop on Friday, April 4, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at UMA/Brunswick Center on The Landing. We will explain how it all works and answer any questions you may have. Oh, and it’s free!
