What Everyone Should Know About Intellectual Property Law

Thursdays, 9:30-11:00 a.m. 5-week course begins 5/12

This course will focus on copyright protection for literary, artistic, and musical works, but will also compare and contrast trademarks and patents. Students will learn how to obtain intellectual property protection, what constitutes infringement of protected works, what fair use is, and what damages can be recovered. We will also look at typical contracts used to convey rights. Scott Burnham is a graduate of NYU Law School. As a lawyer he practiced intellectual property law and taught the subject as a law professor for 35 years.
