Signs of Summer are all about us. The buds are about to burst on trees, the grass is greening, and Midcoast Senior College’s highly anticipated Summer Wisdom FREE Speaker Series begins May 6 with our own local chocolatier and entrepreneur Tom Wilbur and his talk, “Everything is Better with Chocolate.” Following Tom, Rani Snyder (a Brunswick native) dives into the issues of caregiving for aging family members in her talk, “Caregiving is Coming for All of Us” on May 13. The 250th Anniversary of Benedict Arnold’s Expedition is the May 20th topic with Robert Stevens. Then, Cheryl Swift’s talk on May 27, “Ecological Disturbance and Succession in Forests of Midcoast Maine.” The capstone talk is given by Maine’s broadcast journalist Don Carrigan – “25 Years of Maine Politics” – to celebrate MSC’s 25 year anniversary. The series is free and open to all. Talks are from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at the Curtis Memorial Library. Seating is limited! Thanks to Thornton Oaks for sponsoring this wonderful speaker series.
