C G Jung and The Greeks

Carl Gustav Jung, the Swiss psychiatrist (1875-1961), founded the school of analytical psychology. He came from a long family line of Lutheran clerics. His classical education gave him the ability to read Greek and Latin and to gain an understanding that opens doors to the mystery of the mind. His work has been influential in the fields of philosophy, anthropology, archaeology, literature, and religious studies. He is best known for his concept of archetypes and the lifelong psychological process of integrating the conscious and unconscious elements of the psyche to create a balanced personality.

Christos J. Gianopoulos is a retired Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Maine at Augusta. He is a member of the Jung Center of Maine and has taught many courses and seminars there on Jungian thought.
