Reading Gide in French

Description

This French-language course will focus on André Gide’s classic novella La Symphonie pastorale. The story relates a first-person account by a Protestant pastor who takes a young, innocent, blind woman named Gertrude under his wing. After taking a brief look at the life of the book’s Nobel prize-winning author, we will discuss the work divided into segments not to exceed more than twenty pages per week.
