Greetings to you on this beautiful early fall afternoon. I'm writing to send a friendly nudge to get out to Merrymeeting Fields or wherever your fancy takes you this week! No pressure though, it's all good whatever you do.

Here's a photo of the Cinnamon Fern, which bears its spores on a separate stalk. You might see these stalks on your forays -- they are often all that's left of the fern once the leaves die back in the fall.
