This course is a chance to brush up on all the marvelous Greek and Roman myths and legends, from the creation of the world to the reign of Julius Caesar, narrated in charming verses by a poet exiled for previous scandalous tales of love. As supplements to discussion, we’ll look at some of the fine paintings, sculptures, and prints inspired over the centuries by Ovid’s poems.
