Plato on Love

Description

What is love?  While poets, novelists, and songwriters have attempted to characterize it, one foundational answer comes from Plato, the founder of Western philosophy. This course will examine his dialogue on love, Symposium, and each class will focus on one or two of the Symposium’s participants such as Socrates or Aristophanes.
